The teams were separated into 4 groups which involved them being placed at different locations.
John Keyes, Jeff Stunell and Chris Bibb continued with their building project from last week at Cool Cats day centre for children aged 0 to 5.
Wendy, Dawn and Rachael Burnett were tasked with painting the inside of two new shipping containers which were erected by the previous weeks’ volunteers. The containers were sited on an adopted squatters camp and will be used as a library and resource centre for all the children and adults on the camp.
Jon and Steve worked on the interior of a building which is being used to house volunteers for the Winnie Mabaso Foundation children’s home. They then enjoyed some recreational time with the children at the foundation after their work was over for the day.
Carmen, Sarah and Rachael Metcalfe, worked on a new type of project for Footprints in South Africa. They were involved with painting and decorating Vuyiswa, a home for the elderly and people with physical and mental disabilities. The painting is part of a larger work schedule that will be taking place in the future for Footprints and the home.
