Another busy and productive day.
Stacey Doyle lent a hand with the final erection of a wall. Once again new to doing such a task, she exceeded her own expectations, along with those of the master builders on site
With a completed wall and 2 buildings all painted half of the team members went down to Cool Cats orphanage to do some much needed painting of the children’s building.
This was such a pleasant surprise to them and they were overwhelmed by our generosity.
Cool Cats Orphanage has 8 children living there, with another 12 that go home at the end of the day. Home is generally with grandparents who are the sole carer and send the children to Cool Cats for a respite. We held one child who was left at the orphanage when she was just two months old by her dying mother as there was
no-one to care for her when she was gone..
Our next venture at Cool Cats will be to renovate what is presently a cardboard lined shed into a proper kitchen.
Back at Little Angels we had some unexpected volunteering help. Several team members from the local KFC had heard about what we were doing for the Orphanage and wanted to show their support and came to help. They did some internal painting of walls, a really nice gesture, and their show of gratitude was very much appreciated.
