Legs 1 and 2 – Duxford to Swindon & Swindon to Radley

The walk started in perfect walking conditions with a team including a number of children of the Mears family. Fantastic lunch at The Ferryman was the highlight where the timing of our arrival was perfect as the food arrived as did we ! Another tribute to the organisation of the walk.

Donna from Gloucester was snapping away all weekend.

There are a number of interesting sites along this part of the river including the toll bridge at Swinford one of only two privately owned paying toll booths in England. Most people found they could afford the 5p charge.

We finished at Radley boathouse where we start on our long trail onto London.

A lovely dinner date with Mike Hutchings who used to manage our subsidiary UFD was a good end to our first weekend of walking.
